Instagram: How To Make Your Life Easier with Iconosquare

Are you or your business on Instagram? Do you struggle to grow your followers? With Instagram remaining a mobile platform, it can be difficult to implement this network into your social media strategy. However if your business benefits from this platform, then it’s best to use tools to make your life easier. In our previous blogs related to Instagram, we discussed two of our favorite tools. Today we’re going over Iconosquare (formerly known as Statigram) to discuss some of its awesome features.

Instagram Viewer

Once you log into Iconosquare using your Instagram credentials, you will see 6 tabs at the top of the page. The first tab provides you with options to view your news feed, your own media, likes, followers and more. Your feed will give you a tile layout making it easy to see photos of all your followers. If you click on ‘My Media’, you will see every last image you ever uploaded. ‘My Likes’ will direct you to any image you have liked in the past. The rest of the options are pretty self explanatory.

Statistics

In our last blog, I mentioned how important analytics were for measuring your performance. Iconosquare provides a nifty little analytics tool when you click on the statistics tab at the top of the page. This section will provide you with an overview of information related to followers, likes, and comments accumulated. It goes much deeper by giving you an analysis of your content, engagement, community and more. My favorite part about the analytics is the Optimization section because it lets you know when you post most often as well as when people are most likely to interact. That’s a valuable nugget of gold when it comes to adjusting your social strategy.

Snapshots

Iconosquare does a nice job of giving you bragging rights and accomplishments through the snapshots section. Here you will be able to see data related to your best posts, comments, favorite Instagrammers, and so much more. I think it’s cool because they basically create a post for you where all you have to do is hit the send button and your followers will be notified of your well-earned accomplishments. We recently had a photo that broke our record for most likes received, so we posted that to thank our audience for the support. It lead to us getting even more followers shortly after.

Managing Instagram

Without a tool, managing your account can become tricky and quite overwhelming. The ‘manage’ tab in Iconosquare brings up every comment and private message received making it easy to communicate in a much more efficient way. You won’t need to go through every picture to comment because it provides you with a snapshot of the picture, and the comment itself. This makes it quite useful if you have multiple things going on within your page.

Promote

I have not used this feature yet but if you are feeling crafty enough or really want to step up your InstaGame, this is a great utility to do so. In this tab, you are allowed to set your own Public URL to make your account easier to find. You can also set up tabs for your pages where your best content and hash tags are showcased. On top of that, you can also create a profile cover photo and add widgets to your blog or business website. These widgets can add follow buttons or RSS feeds to give your audiences immediate access to your page.

Contest

Depending on the size and resources of your business, you may want to check out the contest section. Here you will be able to create and track your own campaign in order to get some real exposure into the Instagram community. Smuckers, the brand that makes Jelly and ice cream toppings made a #SundaeFundae campaign where users capture photos of their own creative decorations. By adding the hashtag, users enter to win a summer vacation, gift baskets, and a few other prizes. You don’t have to offer the same incentives, but that should give you some ideas of what you can do.

It took me about 2 months to fully dive into this tool as I was still experimenting with Instagram on mobile.
