Your Out-Of-Order News Feed is Good News!
Seven years ago, Facebook introduced the News Feed a feature that would impact the way people stay in contact with their families, friends, customers and prospects. As you scrolled down on your News Feed, you would see, in a chronological order, all the news and updates of the day. Sometimes these updates were interesting. Sometimes, not so much.
Facebook recently changed the way your News Feed works and it’s great news for a lot of interesting content providers. Facebook now guesses as to how interesting a piece of content is and filters that content to the top of the feed until you see it.
Facebook uses several factors to determine top stories including the number of comments, who posted the story and what type of post it is (photo, video, status update, etc.). This is great news for your Facebook posts as long as you are posted interesting content. Keep this in mind while posting.
One quick note, though – Facebook does allow users to change how the News Feed is ordered and this prioritization can be disabled.
